Privacy Policy

Plain version: we collect the minimum needed to run your account and the tools, we never sell it or use it for advertising, and you can get a copy or delete it whenever you like. The detail is below.
Who this is
SteadyKeel is operated by Graham, a UK sole trader. For anything to do with your data, email hello@steadykeel.co.uk.
What we collect
- Your email address, to sign you in (no password; we email you a one-time link) and to send you your purchase or account emails.
- The figures you enter into a hosted tool: for example, payments received, tax settings, amounts moved to a savings pot. This is only ever what you choose to type in.
- Billing information, handled entirely by Stripe. We hold your Stripe customer and subscription IDs so we know your membership is active; we never see or store your card details.
- One-off purchase records: email, product, and amount, for the ones you buy without a membership. Kept as the transaction record.
We don't use tracking cookies, ad pixels, or analytics that identify you. The only cookie is a session cookie that keeps you signed in.
Why we hold it
To provide the account and tools you've signed up for or purchased, nothing more. We don't use your data for advertising, and we don't sell or share it with anyone except the two services that make the site work:
- Cloudflare hosts the site, the database your entries are saved to, and the downloadable files.
- Stripe handles payments and billing, and (for the SteadyKeel Pass) is the merchant of record, meaning Stripe is responsible for sales tax on your purchase.
How long we keep it
For as long as your account is active. If you cancel the Pass, your account and saved figures stay so you can pick up where you left off if you rejoin. Delete your account (below) at any point if you'd rather we removed everything now. One-off purchase records are kept as a transaction record even if you don't have an account.
Your data is yours
From your account page you can, at any time, without asking us:
- Export everything we hold on you as a file.
- Delete your account, which cancels any active membership and removes your saved figures and account record immediately.
You can also email us to ask what we hold, correct anything, or object to how it's used.
Where it's held
On Cloudflare's infrastructure and in Stripe's systems, both of which meet UK/EU data protection standards.
Children
SteadyKeel is a tool for freelancers and the self-employed and isn't intended for children.
Changes
If this policy changes in a way that matters, we'll update the date at the top. Worth a glance now and then.
